2026 Pizza Picnic

On Wednesday, September 16, we hosted our annual Pizza Picnic to celebrate the start of a new year at Applewood and to welcome our incoming placement students! 🍕 September is the perfect month for this tradition: lovely weather, fresh energy, and a chance to create meaningful connections and memories.

Our participants enjoyed pizza, snacks, and refreshing beverages while spending time in the sunshine or relaxing indoors in quieter spaces. A highlight of the event was our temporary “drive-thru” window — a fun, practical setup that lets participants practice communication and ordering skills in a low-pressure, fun environment.

We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for the picnic, which made the afternoon feel like a warm, community celebration. It was a lovely start to the season and a meaningful way to welcome new faces to Applewood!
