Our First (and second) Caterpillars!
We have some exciting news from the Applewood garden! For the very first time since we redid our garden, we spotted two monarch butterfly caterpillars making themselves at home. Seeing these little creatures is a huge milestone for us. When we redid our garden, one of our biggest hopes was to create a welcoming, vibrant sanctuary for local wildlife and pollinators.
Why This Matters
Monarch butterflies rely heavily on healthy, pesticide-free gardens to lay their eggs, and their caterpillars have a very specific diet (they love milkweed!). Spotting some means our garden is providing the clean, nurturing environment they need to thrive and grow.
Keep an Eye Out!
The next time you visit us, be sure to take a gentle stroll past our garden. See if you can spot our new little residents. Be sure to look with your eyes and give them plenty of space to do their important job of growing.
We are so proud to watch our garden come to life, one tiny visitor at a time.We couldn’t have asked for a better sign of new beginnings!
